Do I have to pedal when riding a SunCycle?Listenelement 2
Yes, our SunCycles are equipped with a motor that is only activated by a sensor, which kicks in as soon as you start pedalling. But, no sweat, with the help of our powerful motors, you'll be able to reach longer distances and higher speeds with much less effort than with an ordinary bicycle.

For safety reasons, our SunCycles are limited to 30 km/h.

How far can I cycle with one battery charge?Listenelement 4
A battery charge will take you approximately 30-50km, with several factors influencing the range, including the level of motor assistance, tyre pressure, weight of the cyclist, terrain cycled on and age of the battery.

How do I charge the battery? Do I need a solar panel to do so?
The best way to recharge your battery is at our SunWorkshop in Windhoek. Here we rely on solar power to charge our batteries, and can do the same for you, completely free of charge.
If you are not situated in Windhoek, we also provide solar recharge stations, tailor-made to suit your needs.
And if all else fails, you can still recharge your battery with the provided 220V AC charger at any power plug.

How long does it take to charge the battery? How many times can I use it?
Depending on your battery’s energy level, it will recharge at approximately 15km per hour, which means that you can expect a total charging time of 4-5 hours.
Batteries can be can recharged about 1 000 times before they start to lose their efficiency, so you can be guaranteed at least 10 000 - 15 000 km of happy rides.
Once your battery has reached the end of its lifespan, you can bring it back to us for recycling and we can supply you with a brand new one.

Can I trust the quality of the SunCycle and its parts?
SunCycles’ e-bikes are designed and assembled in Namibia, where after years of research and development, we have come to know what parts are needed to last in the tough local environment. We choose the best suppliers from all over the world to provide a long lasting, quality product. Plus, we provide a 6-month warrantee on parts.

What kind of warranty do you provide?
Your first bicycle service is on us! And, if you are eager to learn how to fix your SunCycle yourself, we will be more than happy to give you a crash-course in maintaining your bike in the future.
We also offer a 6-month warranty on all electrical parts, including the motor. Unfortunately we do not cover bicycle body parts, or brakes, wires, and tyres.
We suggest a proper check-up after the first 500 – 1 000 km.

What do I need to use a SunCycle in Namibia?
According to Namibia’s Road Traffic and Transport Regulations, the use of a helmet when riding a bicycle is mandatory. We therefore suggest you stay safe and abide by the regulations.
Unfortunately we do not sell helmets, but there are many bicycle shops around the country that supply all the gear needed to ensure for a safe cycle.
